The Chicago School releases INSIGHT Magazine annually. The magazine revolves around many different issues in the psychology field, with this year's main feature being about their 45th anniversary.

INSIGHT Winter 2024 Nurturing Neurodiversity Article

This issue, I worked on the layout of the front and back of the book, and 2 of the features - Nurturing Neurodiversity: How Can We Build a More Neuro-Inclusive Society? and Social Isolation, Public Health, and the Paradox of Connectivity.

For the feature Nurturing Neurodiversity: How Can We Build a More Neuro-Inclusive Society?, I wanted to create a soft and caring feeling. This is an important topic, and one I can relate to, so I wanted this piece to feel approachable and comforting. I used a muted colors, mainly light green, to create that feeling. I paired the color palette with a soft script that matched the style of the illustration used. I also designed this piece to stand out from the style of the rest of the magazine. It adds some variety to the rest of the pieces, and brings viewers into the piece.

INSIGHT Winter 2024 Social Isolation, Public Health, and the Paradox of Connectivity Article

The second feature I worked on Social Isolation, Public Health, and the Paradox of Connectivity" focused on a more somber tone that I wanted to match in the design. Having a dark background helped achieve that, as well as add some visual variety to the magazine. As this article is only one spread, the main focus is on the image. I chose one that showcases the loneliness and feeling of sadness shown across the woman's face.
